ABOUT THIS TUSSAR SILK:

Authentic Indian Tussar (also known as tropical Tussar) produced by artisans in India.
This is a hand-spun and handwoven silk in sheer and lightweight. The texture of this fabric is rough and distinct in natural gold tones and a soft sheen. Completely undyed with traditionally woven uneven warp and weft.

THE STORY:

Each one taking almost 2 months to create, a single artist has worked on one entire piece, the sheer and lightweight nature of this fabric make the intricate Kashmiri embroidery practically float in mid air, they are truly unique and precious.

All the way from The Apple Town of Kashmir, Sopore, handmade by young ladies with commendable talent, great dreams and aspirations to become medical professionals. These ladies train under Zahida Amin, who has many years of experience working in the Kashmiri textiles craftsmanship and has worked with women from small villages in Kashmir. Zahida has put her heart and soul into empowering local women by giving them an opportunity to turn their dreams into reality. I am so proud and over the moon to be able to support these women in a small way, I hope you can too.
