PRODUCT SPEC:

Here folks you see before you a handmade gem from Arun’s finest Raw Fiber Shawls, local sheep shawl which is produced once a year during winter months. The yarn is hand spun, hand dyed using natural dyes and low impact dyes.

This shawl is made from Patanwadi sheep wool which has a distinctive texture, you may find it is coarse to the touch due to the nature of the homegrown wool which is also known to be super warming during winter. The yarn is hand spun on one of Arun’s pit looms, it creates a beautifully irregular surface and this is another set of characteristics that makes it so unique.

The size is; 100 x 210 CM approx

THE STORY:

A master weaver at a young age. Only 24, Arun shows off an amazing traditional handloom collection with creative flair based on skills passed on from his father and elder brother, Kachchh, India. Arun started learning and applying new skills at a very young age. Then went on to study further in 2015 at a handloom school in Maheshwar for 3 intensive months.

Arun continued to refine his skills professionally by creating special wool “Dhabla” (blankets). He has gradually expanded into working with a variety of fibres such as many forms of wool, cotton, silk and linen yarns and creates unique shawls, stoles, scarves, woven fabric, saree and much more.
